What are bioactives?
Bioactives are health-activating, small molecule compounds that are found in plants, fungi and bacteria. Bioactives are incredibly difficult to find, isolate and map to human health impact. They are considered the “dark matter” of plants as the vast majority are still hidden in nature and yet to be explored.
How does Brightseed discover bioactives?
Our AI Forager is discovering bioactives at a rate and speed that was previously impossible, opening up this vast opportunity space for the first time. We use Forager and our proprietary database of plant compounds to identify novel bioactives and connect them to human health benefits, then validate these benefits with clinical research. To-date, Forager has mapped more than 7 Million plant compounds and more than 40,000 bioactives and their impacts across 23 health areas.
What is Brightseed Bio Gut Fiber?
It’s our first ingredient in Brightseed’s bioactive ingredient pipeline, which is based on Forager A.I. discoveries.
Bio Gut Fiber is a novel source of prebiotic dietary fiber made from upcycled hemp hulls, which contains two unique bioactives with the potential to support gut strength.
Bio Gut Fiber acts as a prebiotic, supporting microbiome growth and short chain fatty acid production (Butyrate), based on recent in vitro findings.
The bioactives are NCT (N-trans-caffeoyl tyramine) and NCT (N-trans-feruloyl tyramine) and they show promise to help support gut strength.
